May 25, 2017: Thursday

Today was the final cleaning day in the classroom, followed by some Dojo prizes and class awards, and finally the day ended with the Honors Awards ceremony. Congratulations to Georgia, Victoria, and Joshua for claiming Honors in the second semester. Congratulations also goes to Stetson for earning the Most Improved award, Ahmrae for the Deportment award, and Joshua for the Leadership award. Well done, students!

NOTICES:

- please fill out the parent survey/questionnaire and return it to the office tomorrow

- please arrive to school at the normal time, and the Graduation ceremony will begin at 9am. Dismissal will be at 11:45am. 

This is the last blog of the school year and I want to again mention that I had a tremendous year with these students. I wish them all the best in the future and I hope you all have a safe and wonderful summer vacation!

May 24, 2017: Wednesday

Today was a good day of cleaning and organized to prepare for the last day. Thanks for all the help students. Here's some pics of them hard at work.....

- a newsletter was handed out today and there is an important survey/questionnaire the parents need to fill out and return it by this Friday

May 23, 2017: Tuesday

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!  You're all done your exams and hopefully you're having a wonderful afternoon off with no homework and enjoying the sun.

Here are the events and activities that are coming up for the rest of the week:

Wednesday:
- clean up and organizing in the classroom, returning textbooks (please bring all the textbooks back that belong to the school, but you may keep any of the workbooks)
- Blue House pizza party tomorrow

Thursday:
- clean up and organizing (students will take home anything else they have)
- Grade 3 lunch pizza party with snacks, class awards, and Dojo prizes
- rehearsal for the graduation ceremony
- honors assembly will be from 2:30pm-4:00pm - parents are welcome to join

Friday:
- Graduation Day - the program will begin at 9:00am and finish at about 11:00am. Parents are welcome to join
- Dismissal for the 2016-2017 school year will be at 11:45am

It has been a wonderful year with these great bunch of Talented Third Graders. It's sad that the end is near but it's great to watch how much the students have grown physically and academically over the past 10 months. I'm proud of you all.

May 22, 2017: Monday

Welcome to the last week of the 2016-2017 school year!  The students now have only 2 final exams left.

Tomorrow's exams will be Science first, and then Math after recess to end them all.

Please be reminded tomorrow is a half day as well.

NOTICES:
- please bring ALL your notebooks and textbooks to school tomorrow
- please return any unfinished homework you need to complete for tomorrow (it's the last day to hand anything in).
- Congratulations to the BLUE TEAM for winning this year's house competition!  The Blue Team will be rewarded with a pizza party on Wednesday for their year long expedition of getting points.
- Reminder we will have our own pizza party on Thursday in the classroom

May 19, 2017: Friday

Classes are officially over, and most of the final exams are also complete. I'm proud of you students for working so hard this week, and now you only have one more week to go!!  Time flies!

We dove right into the Reading final presentations to start the day, and they were great. There are pictures at the bottom of the blog.

During Math we reviewed and practiced for the final exam.

Science was used today to complete the written portion of the Reading final exam.

HOMEWORK:
1) Think Tac Toe - this is only an optional homework and you do not have to do it. However, I recommend that every students reads the questions and at least practices answering them. If you want to hand your answers in, please write them in any notebook of your choice.

2) Social Studies - My Future booklet - this is a good review activity - please complete the last page of your booklet on matching the definitions with the vocabulary word. Please cut and glue carefully.

3) Study - just a reminder that you only need to follow what is on the study guides. Anything we covered in class could be on the exams.

NOTICES:
- Monday and Tuesday are half-days, so please have arrangements made to have your child picked up at 11:45am
- Monday exams: Social Studies and Language Arts/Spelling
- Tuesday exams: Science and Math
- Ms. Parker also wants to remind you to bring your Art Project to school on Monday, or you will receive a bigger late penalty
Reminder:
- Our class party will be on Thursday starting at 11:00am and will continue into lunch with a Pizza Party. Students will claim some prizes they earned with Dojo points.
- Also Thursday will be the Honors Assembly in the afternoon from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Parents are welcome to join as some students will be given awards.
- Graduation will be on Friday (our last day) from 9:00am - 11:00am with dismissal at 11:45am.
